Downloading Bid Packs The bid packs are now available on the FedEx web site, http://pilot.fedex.com. For use with BidBest, you should download the ZIP or text file versions, NOT the Acrobat (.pdf suffix) versions. Use the Acrobat versions only for viewing onscreen or printing. The bidpacks are available as separate "lines," "seniority list," and "award" files for each aircraft, and also as one ZIP file for each aircraft that combines the lines and seniority list in a compressed archive. The ZIP file will download a little faster but you will have to use Stuffit Expander or another file decompression utility to unZIP the file. The Bidlines ZIP file will download to your Mac with the suffix ".exe"; you can then drag the file's icon over the Stuffit Expander icon and it will expand the file into a "lines" file and a "seniority list" file, which BidBest can read. The ZIP file is located on the left of each aircraft's area, and is marked with an icon of a vise. Its suffix is ".exe". The separate lines and seniority text files are located on the right side, and have the suffix ".asc". You can download either the .asc files or the .exe file (you must decompress the .exe file after downloading). To download the files to your Mac, hold down the Option key while clicking on the desired link. To recap: BidBest can ONLY read an ".asc" file. It can't read a ".pdf" file. It can't read an ".exe" file (but it can read the two ".asc" files that are created when you unZIP the .exe file).
